This page explains the use of cookies and browser storage on the current Casa Bene website. Cookies are small files a website can store in your browser; other technologies, such as local storage, can also save information on your device.

Age declaration

We use session storage named casa-bene.age-declaration.v1 to remember your yes/no response to the entrance age question in this browser tab. It lasts for the tab session, including reloads, and is not linked to your account. It stores no date of birth or identity document and is a declaration, not proof of age.

Basket storage

When you change a guest basket, we use local storage named casa-bene.basket.v1 to remember product references and quantities. It also contains a random reference to prevent duplicate imports when you sign in, and an expiry time. The basket expires 30 days after the latest change. It contains no name, address, password or payment details. Signed-in baskets are stored with your account; a guest basket is removed from this browser after a successful import.

Account cookies

When the account service is enabled and you sign in, __Host-cb-access and __Host-cb-refresh cookies keep you signed in and renew your session. These are secure, HTTP-only cookies, so website JavaScript cannot read them. They have a maximum browser lifetime of 30 days, renewed when the session refreshes, and are cleared when you sign out in this browser. The authentication service may end a session sooner. No account cookies are created just by opening an account menu.

Checkout verification cookies

If sandbox checkout is activated, __Host-cb-age-pending and __Host-cb-age are short-lived, secure, HTTP-only cookies that bind an age verification to the browser and permit an age-verified purchase. They contain a signed verification reference, not your identity photographs or date of birth. Their maximum lifetime is 30 minutes. Stripe Identity and payment components may additionally use storage needed for fraud prevention and payments; please see Stripe's privacy notice. We will review any additional cookie choices before opening public checkout.

How this storage is used

This storage supports the basket and sign-in services you request. We do not use it for advertising or analytics. The production website has not enabled online payments. Payment-provider storage may be used when our separate sandbox checkout is activated. We will update this notice and provide any required choices before introducing those features.

External services

Pages load fonts from Google Fonts and images from Unsplash, and the website is hosted by Vercel. Requests to those services involve technical information such as your IP address and browser details. This is separate from cookies set by our own website code. You can read more in our Privacy Policy.

Browser settings

You can view, block or remove cookies and site data through your browser settings. Blocking necessary cookies may prevent sign-in. Clearing local storage removes your guest basket. Signing out does not delete the basket saved with your account.
